Focus of Work

Commercial: 75%

Regulatory & Compliance: 25%

Responsibilities

You are expected to closely collaborate with commercial teams, back-office functions and legal operations on a day-to-day basis to manage the following:

Contractual & Legal Documentation: Drafting, vetting, and negotiating a variety of external (e.g. merchant, partnership, supplier) and internal (employment) contracts, legal documents, and agreements to safeguard the interests of the company.

Legal Risk Management: Identifying, managing, and mitigating legal risks within the organisation, and proposing and formulating company policies to enhance operations. This includes keeping abreast of, and ensuring compliance with, local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards; working closely with commercial teams and other stakeholders to provide legal support on business practices and forthcoming projects.

Regulatory, Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Advising the company and senior management in Taiwan on regulatory compliance, disputes, supervising litigation, and overseeing relationships with external legal service providers.

Strategic Advisory: Advising senior leadership on legal implications of business decisions, corporate strategy, and new legislation.

Requirements

- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Law from a top ranked university in Taiwan

- At least 7 years of experience in combined as legal counsel at a reputable law firm and in-house legal or compliance counsel in technology or e-commerce industry

- Excellent communications skills, fluency in Chinese and English, strong stakeholder management ability

- Enjoy working in a dynamic, commercial, fast-paced and creative environment

- Possess strong business judgement and strategic thinking, detail-oriented, proactive in problem-solving, able to think critically and work under tight timeline
