About the job

Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

Through your leadership, you use your technical expertise to lead cross-functional teams to develop infrastructure improvements. You manage a team of engineers and assign Googlers to projects based on their capabilities and the project's demands.

The Research and Development (R&D) Engineering team leads the design for Google’s global data center components from the utility to the IT rack. As the Regional R&D Lead for APAC, you will be the point of contact for designs and components localized to Asia Pacific region.

In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging Google’s unique strengths by partnering with Regional Engineering execution and delivery, construction, operations, platforms, supply chain partner teams to drive programs to completion and distill lessons learned and best practices related to designs and components.

You will also collaborate, lead and inspire regionally optimized design solutions that improve speed to capacity, and lower costs while maintaining safety and security governance requirements, coordinating closely with other Regional R&D Leads and central R&D teams.

The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. Our customers include Googlers, Google Cloud customers, and billions of Google users worldwide.

We're the driving force behind Google's groundbreaking innovations, empowering the development of our cutting-edge AI models, delivering unparalleled computing power to global services, and providing the essential platforms that enable developers to build the future. From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more.

Responsibilities

  • Define data center system-level, product architecture, and Research and Development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes.
  • Localize system-level architectures for new Data Center designs, products and ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.).
  • Report and synthesize on regional constraints, requirements, and best practices in Data Center design and constructability.
  • Coordinate between local engineering execution teams, construction and site acquisition partner teams, and central (U.S.. based) R&D Engineering leads.

關於我們

Google’s mission is to organize the world‘s information and make it universally accessible and useful.

Since our founding in 1998, Google has grown by leaps and bounds. From offering search in a single language we now offer dozens of products and services—including various forms of advertising and web applications for all kinds of tasks—in scores of languages. And starting from two computer science students in a university dorm room, we now have thousands of employees and offices around the world. A lot has changed since the first Google search engine appeared. But some things haven’t changed: our dedication to our users and our belief in the possibilities of the Internet itself.
