Job Summary
A Lab Technician is responsible for performing quality control testing on concrete and related materials, both in the laboratory and at construction sites. The Lab technician ensures that all tests comply with industry standards and client specifications and helps maintain consistent concrete quality.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct standard tests on raw materials and concrete (e.g., slump, incoming sand and Aggregate, compressive strength, cube/field-testing preparation).
Visit project sites to perform on-site sampling, slump testing, and casting of concrete cube specimens.
Transport test samples from the site to the laboratory as per procedures.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.
Prepare and maintain accurate testing records, Google Drive summary, and reports.
Support QA/QC inspections and report any non-conformances found during testing.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in both laboratory and field environments.
Coordinate with site engineers and batching plant staff to ensure timely testing.
Support R&D and QC Engineer/Executive for concrete mix improvement.
Willing and able to travel to project sites as needed.
Able to work in hot/outdoor conditions and perform physical testing tasks.
Able to operate basic lab and field equipment (e.g., slump cone, compression machine).
Detail-oriented with good documentation skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
Possessing your transport and a valid driving license is a plus.
