Backend Engineer / 後端工程師

Responsibilities

• Communicate with relevant stakeholders and develop application features within our services.
• Contribute quality code to the code base.
• Optimize code for performance and cost.
• Debug application bugs in a timely fashion.

Must Have

• 3+ year of experience of API server development.
• Good problem solving skills and mindset through logical thinking. Knowing what is the right question to ask while also not just waiting or asking for the answer.
• Proactive attitude towards problems and task assignments. You see it, you fix it.
• Good familiarity with Python.
• Good knowledge and skills in the following categories: HTTP/RESTful/TLS/Websockets/Caching/MongoDB/Distributed Systems/Distributed Processing/Task Queues/Containerization
• Good communication skills.
• Good responsibility mindset. We appreciate engineers that are proud of their own work and own up to it.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good motivation to learn and improve.

Nice to Have

• Good familiarity with GCP.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming web frameworks.
• Good understanding of agile development.

1. HR Phone Interview

2. Take-Home Test (four-day deadline)

3. Onsite Interview (whiteboard challenge included), approximately 2.5~3.5 hrs
