Senior Tax Specialist

About the role

• Reviewing and analyzing financial records, statements, and transactions to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
• Preparing and filing various tax returns, such as income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Conducting tax research and staying updated on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
• Assisting in tax planning initiatives, analyzing the impact of tax regulations on the organization, and making recommendations to minimize tax liabilities.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as finance, accounting, and legal teams, to gather necessary tax information and ensure accurate reporting.
• Responding to tax-related inquiries from internal and external parties, resolving tax-related issues, and providing guidance on tax matters.
• Assisting in tax audits and examinations, preparing necessary documentation, and representing the organization in communication with tax authorities.
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of tax accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
• Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing best practices in tax compliance and reporting.
• Assisting in the development and delivery of tax-related training programs to enhance tax knowledge and awareness within the organization.
• Collaborating with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants as required.
• Support direct supervisor/team/commitee in terms of the work ad-hoc/project based

What you will need

• Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Familiarity with accounting software packages
• Familiarity with taxation application
• Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular)
• Excellent analytical and time management skills
• Strong numeracy skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Bachelor degree in Accounting
