Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Purpose: Ensuring that all products delivered from a supplier are in compliance with manufacturing specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

- Lead Supplier Quality engineering for critical direct materials like lead-frames, ceramic, substrate, tape and reel materials, mold compound, wire, solder paste and etc.

- Driving supplier quality performance, including new product development and product quality improvement.

- Overseeing supplier quality team and establishing quality control objectives.

- Performing supplier quality audits, maintaining supplier quality record.

- Drive standardization of processes across multiple WW factories SQE/IQA (Material Verification, Supplier Assessments, Qualification, etc.)

- Monitor existing suppliers to ensure quality objectives are achieved.

- Lead supplier qualification audits and follow-up with suppliers on corrective and prevention actions.

- Partner with Global Commodity Managers in reducing cost of materials and components while maintaining a high sensitivity of quality

- Drive and ensure Critical Direct Materials supplier with built-in quality from product development to mass production phases

- Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D engineers to improve overall product quality by emphasizing defect prevention throughout the development process

- Tracking, management and reporting for the assigned quality initiative programs

- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards

Qualifications:

- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Material, Chemical, or related discipline

- With 5 year’s working experience in process/ material/ chemicals engineering, quality, supply chain or equivalent

- Ability to travel independently in domestic and international markets

- Candidate with IATF16949/VDA 6.3 and certified Lead Auditor is preferred but not required

- Experience with PPAP/APQP/DFMEA/PFMEA/Control Plan and DFM/DFQ

- Ability to read and interpret schematics & drawings

- Ability to listen - speak – read – write fluently in English language to liaise with international suppliers; additional score if candidate able to communicate in Mandarina – Chinese to some China source.

- Knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness

- Solid analytic and articulation skills

- Semiconductor Process/Manufacturing experience
