About the job:

We are looking for a UX Researcher with a strong interest in entertainment, music, and idols to join our Product Development team. Our mission is to keep KKBOX the leading music streaming platform in the Chinese-speaking world by deeply understanding market trends and user needs. As a UX Researcher within the Product Department, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data analysts, marketing, and business development teams. You will leverage qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as data-driven insights, to uncover market and user needs. Your findings will directly inform product and go-to-market (GTM) strategies, ultimately driving greater impact for KKBOX in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

    • Execute End-to-End Research Projects: Assist in conducting full-cycle user research projects—from research planning and interview execution to survey design and synthesis—under the guidance of a lead, ensuring all deliverables align with project goals.
    • Support Research Planning & Execution: Participate in discovery sessions with product teams to identify research needs, help develop research plans, and gather preliminary user insights to support short-to-medium-term product optimizations.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively partner with stakeholders including Product Managers (PMs) and Designers to share research findings, ensuring the user’s voice is effectively integrated into team discussions.
    • Continuous Methodological Improvement: Learn and apply a diverse range of research tools and methodologies (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys). Proactively explore AI-assisted research workflows and refine professional expertise through team knowledge sharing.
    • Iterative Reporting & Refinement: Willingly engage in the iterative process of drafting and refining research reports. Work closely with leads to incorporate feedback, ensuring high-quality insights and professional storytelling.

    Requirements:

    • Educational Background or Experience: Degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Sociology, or a related field, and/or 1+ years of practical experience in user research.
    • Foundational Research Skills: Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Knowledgeable in combining different methodologies to uncover user pain points and capable of performing basic workflow and task analysis.
    • Execution & Communication: Strong organizational skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear findings. Possess the communication skills necessary to articulate insights effectively to team members.
    • Methodological Growth Potential: Basic proficiency in research techniques (e.g., survey design, moderation skills) and a demonstrated potential to integrate quantitative data with qualitative insights.
    • Growth Mindset & Communication Resilience: Possess an open-minded approach to feedback and a willingness to undergo multiple rounds of report revisions. Able to transform constructive criticism into learning opportunities to achieve excellence in deliverables.
    • User-Centered Advocacy: Passionate about solving user problems and thinking from the user's perspective, while maintaining the flexibility to learn how to balance user needs with business objectives.
