Senior Software Engineer (Quality Assurance)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to act as a Quality Owner for our core RPA product, Robotiive. This role is pivotal and moves beyond traditional testing; you will be responsible for defining and executing the entire quality assurance strategy. Your primary focus will be taking full ownership of the defect lifecycle, ensuring our software consistently meets high standards in a dynamic, agile environment.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is genuinely interested in the product. We need a strategic engineer who proactively explores the product to uncover complex edge cases, confidently navigates ambiguous situations without explicit direction, and collaborates closely with the Development and Product team members.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic & Risk-Based Testing: 
  1. Develop and execute flexible, comprehensive test plans aligned with Sprint cycles. 
  2. Focus on prioritizing critical paths and high-risk areas over rigid, linear checklists to ensure both timely delivery and high stability.
• End-to-End Defect Ownership: 
  1. Manage the entire defect lifecycle autonomously. 
  2. This includes efficiently reproducing complex issues, validating fixes, and leading prioritization discussions with development and product team members. 
• Architectural Product Mastery: 
  1. Rapidly gain an in-depth understanding of the product's architecture and diverse user scenarios. 
  2. Conduct rigorous exploratory testing to identify system-level and integration issues that standard automated scripts may overlook.
• Proactive "Shift-Left" Quality: 
  1. Engage early in the development process, participating in design discussions to clarify ambiguous specifications and identify potential quality risks before coding begins. 
  2. Maintain a culture of fearless inquiry to resolve all ambiguity.
• Actionable Data-Driven Reporting: 
  1. Deliver concise quality reports to leadership that go beyond task completion.
  2. Provide key insights on system stability, coverage gaps, and release risks.

Requirements

We are seeking a seasoned QA professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience focused on product-level integration testing and in-depth software troubleshooting.

• Education: 
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Valued (Nice-to-Have) Experience:

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline technologies (e.g., GitLab CI).
• Experience with performance testing, including analysis of system metrics such as CPU and memory.
