Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Fullstack Engineer to head our Developer Portal & Pipelines Team in Vietnam. This role involves close collaboration with the broader team in Melbourne to introduce and implement best practices for building a sustainable and high-quality UI experience in our Backstage application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the Developer Portal using Backstage, including custom plugin development and integration.
  • Architect and implement scalable fullstack solutions using NodeJS, ReactJS, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Vietnam and Australia to align on technical direction and delivery.
  • Drive best practices in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and cloud-native platform engineering.
  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance in compliance with banking regulations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of developer workflows, including Software Templates, TechDocs, and service catalog integrations.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong fullstack background.
  • Proficiency in NodeJS, ReactJS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines process, DevOps practices, and cloud-native development (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal), with the ability to work effectively across regions.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with Backstage or similar developer portal platforms, including plugin development and customization
  • Familiarity with platform reliability, observability, and security best practices
