System Integration Engineer

Duties:

This role focuses on system-level integration of audio functionalities across embedded firmware and software components within the Pixel Buds ecosystem. As a System Integration Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless interaction between hardware and software, leveraging C++ and embedded systems knowledge to deliver stable, high-quality user experiences. The role involves diagnosing complex integration issues, improving system reliability, and building tools and processes that streamline integration and testing workflows.

Responsibilities:

•Debug and triage incoming integration issues reported during development and testing of Pixel Buds features, including issues related to embedded audio firmware.

•Identify root causes of integration problems, implement bug fixes (C++/Communication protos/proto definitions), and contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks.

•Develop and maintain automated tools and scripts (potentially using Python to interact with C++ based systems) to simplify manual testing processes and improve integration efficiency.

•Contribute to the development and maintenance of project dashboards to track integration progress and identify potential roadblocks.

•Familiarity with Bluetooth audio profiles (e.g., A2DP, HFP) and related technologies.

•Experience with source control systems like Git, Perforce, Gerrit.

•Good foundation in Python, Android, and Google internal infrastructure.

•Experience with test automation frameworks and methodologies.

•Experience with issue tracking and project management tools.

•Familiarity with the Pigweed embedded framework
