Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing as a semiconductor manufacturing, product, test, or customer quality engineer.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 10 years of experience in quality, reliability, or semiconductor IC technology.
  • Experience working with vendors and contract manufacturers, and auditor experience in quality management systems, fab, assembly, or test.
  • Solid knowledge of semiconductor device physics, including experience with bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD), multi-chip-module (MCM), and CMOS planar technology.
  • Knowledge of passive (RLC) components commodities.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

About the job

The Global Hardware Quality and Reliability (GHQR) team is under the Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) team, responsible for components and solutions.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, Semiconductor, you will join the team responsible for setting and managing the quality and reliability standards for our semiconductor components across Google. You will have extensive involvement in the tools and techniques used to assess product quality and reliability. You will sift through data and use it to drive design or manufacturing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for setting and managing the quality and reliability standards for a wide range of semiconductor and passive components (e.g., power IC, discrete, capacitor, inductor, etc.).
  • Improve the quality of semiconductor components during new product introduction (NPI) and maintain them throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor commodity failure trends and drive root cause and corrective action (8D/RCCA) with suppliers. Collaborate with vendors and contract manufacturers and execute return material authorizations, failure analysis, and corrective actions. Work with the tools and techniques used to assess product quality and reliability (e.g., HTOL, bHAST, etc.).
  • Set component DPPM goals for power commodities, and correlate between system level testing and ATE platform.
  • Lead audits of critical suppliers, covering quality management systems, fab, assembly, and test.
