This role is ideal for leaders with strong factory experience—especially in assembly, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement—who are passionate about developing people and driving operational excellence.

You will guide approximately 8–12 Production Engineers, strengthen technical capabilities across multiple production lines, and collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and cross‑functional partners.

Role and responsibilities

People Leadership & Development

  • Set team goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career and competency growth.

  • Strengthen team capabilities in assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving.

  • Build a collaborative, high‑performance engineering culture and retain critical technical knowledge.

Factory Operations & Production Support

  • Drive daily operational performance, ensuring safety, quality, output, and on‑time delivery.

  • Support complex system/module assembly activities and troubleshoot issues on the factory floor.

  • Provide technical guidance during escalations and partner with Manufacturing on critical decisions.

  • Contribute to short‑term operational planning and long‑term factory readiness.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead improvement projects focused on cycle time, yield, efficiency, and stability.

  • Review operational data (L5 level) to identify structural issues and drive sustainable solutions.

  • Foster a continuous improvement culture through structured methodologies (8D, RCA, DMAIC).

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, D&E, Quality, and other teams to align priorities.

  • Represent the team in technical and operational discussions, providing clear direction and insights.

  • Influence decisions using data, engineering judgment, and strong communication skills.

Planning & Budget Control

  • Translate factory goals into team-level plans, including resource allocation and timelines.

  • Manage team budgets and secure approvals for planned deviations.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS standards.

  • Act as a safety role model and hold team members accountable.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in system/module assembly, integration, or troubleshooting.

  • 3+ years of people management or technical leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, technical lead, project lead, etc.).

  • Experience supporting daily production operations and resolving technical issues.

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving continuous improvement.

Technical Capability

  • Solid understanding of assembly processes, system/hardware integration, test/debug, and factory workflows.

  • Strong analytical capability to diagnose production issues and drive structural solutions.

  • Familiarity with structured problem‑solving methods (8D, RCA, DMAIC, fishbone analysis).

Leadership & Communication

  • Ability to inspire, motivate, coach, and develop engineers.

  • Strong situational leadership, accountability, and decision-making ability.

  • Clear and effective communication across functions and organizational levels.

  • Ability to align stakeholders, manage expectations, and handle conflicts constructively.

  • Strong presentation and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor equipment, automation machinery, robotics, optics, mechatronics systems, or precision assembly environments.

  • Experience with engineering change processes (EC/ECN), yield improvement, or reliability engineering.

  • Hands-on experience driving improvement initiatives such as cycle‑time reduction, stability improvement, or throughput optimization.

  • Strong data analysis capability, including designing experiments (DOE) and interpreting diagnostic data.

  • Experience collaborating with global teams or working in cross‑cultural technical environments.
